NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina is proud to announce that on Sunday, January 19, Durham’s the Pinhook will host the Mountain Goats and Some Army for a benefit concert celebrating the 41st anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court Roe v. Wade titled “Rock for Roe.” NARAL NC hopes that the event will serve as an opportunity for folks to enjoy a fine night of live music, including several rare performances, and to rally together with their neighbors to be vocal in efforts to protect choice in North Carolina.
All of the evening’s performers are strong believers in the basic right to make informed reproductive choices. Headlining the evening will be the Mountain Goats. This particular performance will be, in the words of the Mountain Goats’ John Darnielle, “one of the rare-these-days old-school just-John hesher-neck-snap take-requests style sets.” Opening is the Carrboro indie psych-pop quintet Some Army.
Tickets cost $26 and may be purchased in advance from the Pinhook’s website. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door the night of the event. Doors open at 6:30pm and music starts at 7:30pm.
